West Midlands Watershed Walk

The British watershed is an imaginary line that runs the length of Britain. To one side of the line, water flows to the east. And to the other side, it flows west.

You’d have thought that this definition will define a line that sticks to the uplands. It generally does- the Cotwolds, the Pennines….

But it also passes through the West Midlands conurbation. For 30 miles. And heads straight through both Wolverhampton and Dudley town centres.

I have walked this walk- as it as close to it as was physically possible. In the video below, the blue line is the British watershed…..
